Welcome to Ellias' musical universe!
This project was created as an extension to my well-known alias “Snoozy Booth”. While there I focus on lo-fi videogame cover songs, here it's all about original neo soul and lo-fi jazz.
Pati, who has been part of the LFS team since 2021, is responsible for the art design. She conceptualizes and draws unique art covers for each release of Ellia's with Procreate, developing the lore from the character Lumi Gelastria and her faithful companion Mr. Wobbles. If you like her work and would like to collaborate with her, please write to her at TikTok, Instagram or via my contact form with the subject “Pati”.
Together with my drummer and good friend Yannick Schewe I write and record all the songs directly with audio, moving away from the Midi tricks I used in the past. This project allows me to continuously improve my skills on the piano, guitar, and bass with every new release.
It took me seven years to discover the neo soul genre. Since then, I have been working intensively with music theory, guitar, piano and bass to find out what fascinates me so much about the sound of neo soul. I get great support from me teachers Johannes Bigge, Andreas Wendland, Stefan Glück, as well as idols like Lucas Calebe, Jamal Hartwell, Noah Kellman and Toshiki Soejima.
Even on my first lo-fi jazz album, I worked with outstanding musicians like Yannick Schewe on drums, Celia Jentzsch on saxophone, Cathi Wiswesser on flute and Andreas Wendland on guitar while I took care of the recording, the rest of the instrumentalization, mixing as well as mastering, while the LFS-team took care of the animation. This collaboration not only opened up new creative horizons for me, but also forced me to transcribe sheet music for other instrumentalists, further deepening my understanding of music.
My current goal is to release a variety of Neo Soul songs, either independently or through various indie labels, to gain a better understanding of the genre. I aim to be part of an inspiring community of artists and hope to feature my idols as collaborators in the coming years.
