As a child, I didn't have a good experience with the music school in my home town of Plauen. After two ear-splitting years of recorder, I was at least able to convince my mom to sign me up for guitar. The problem was, however, that I found myself in lessons with my grandma and another pupil and that I could only play children's songs in canon for five years. I also simply had no reason to be interested in guitar.
After moving to Leipzig for my studies (B.A. Sports Science), I quickly realized that I was at a huge disadvantage as a producer if I didn't know how to play an instrument. After a few attempts to teach myself the basics of piano using YouTube, I came up with the idea of registering at the “Johann Sebastian Bach” music school in Leipzig.
As a result, I got my piano teacher Johannes Bigge in summer 2021, which was not only great luck, but also the beginning of a great musical education.
Immediately afterwards, I supplemented my knowledge with music theory lessons from Benjamin Richter, who recommended me the guitar teacher, producer and lecturer Andreas Wendland After a good nine months on the waiting list, I was able to learn the guitar skills from him in the summer of 2022, which still underpin my productions today. While piano and guitar continued, music theory was unfortunately over after completing the M2, which is why I continued my ear training with Mr. Friedemann Zhorel in 2023. Even though I only started to seriously open up to instruments relatively late, I am extremely happy to have left behind my mindset that music school is only for children and sheet music readers.
